About Me

Hi, my name is Mary-Lou Rosengren.  I'm a wife, mother, grandmother, writer, author, and explorer of life. When I was growing up there were two things I loved more than anything - reading and writing - and I still do.  It wasn't until I turned fifty and realized that the things I was most passionate about had become "just hobbies". I'd always dreamed they'd be more.  Much more.  So I was determined to turn them into a larger part of my life.  Let's face it, don't we all want to get up every day and do what we love?

So, at fifty-six years of age, I finally wrote and self-published my first BOOK, "The Grand Embrace:  Why Grandmothers Have the Magical Power to Heal the World".  (HUGE learning curve!).

Then, my mom passed away after a long struggle with dementia (awful, memory-robbing disease) and as I was writing her eulogy I discovered how little I knew about this woman - the most important woman in my life.  What had she been like as a child?  What were her dreams, her fears, her passions?  I also realized that each of our stories matters more than we can ever imagine yet we rarely share them until, one day, it's too late.   Our stories fade away.  That's so sad.

Consequently, I have finally discovered my purpose (or, maybe, it has discovered me).  It's my mission to help others unlock and permanently capture their life stories so their families can learn, be inspired and understand how one life creates a ripple effect that touches so many.

I feel that now, more than ever before in our history, it's crucial that we chronicle our life and pass it on to the future generations.  There are lessons to be learned, truths to bring to light, understanding, and compassion to be gained that can bring healing and insight to ourselves and to others.

So, I invite you to revisit your unique and glorious journey and WRITE it down!  You may very well discover, as you explore, that your ordinary life was anything but ordinary.  Your struggles and accomplishments, the joys and the mundane, the big changes and everything that stayed the same, may become an epiphany for you, an inspiration for your grandchildren or, simply, the story of a life well-lived.

BEFORE YOU LEAVE...TELL YOUR STORY.
